Hockinson students honor Veterans

HHES Assembly

On Friday (November 8), Hockinson School District celebrated those who have served our country by holding Veterans Day assemblies at Hockinson Heights Elementary School, Hockinson Middle School and Hockinson High School.

Each school welcomed veterans from across the community to attend the events. At the Elementary School, K-5 students sung a series of patriotic songs and shared messages of thanks. At the Middle School, students asked questions and listened to accomplished service member Branden Trager (U.S. Army) share his experiences. The HMS band then performed a series of service songs. At Hockinson High School, students gathered in the Multi-Purpose Room and listened to retired Air Force Sergeant Hannah Thelan discuss what it meant to her to serve the nation, having experienced more than 30 flight missions in the Middle East.

Hockinson School District recognizes the importance of educating students about our nation’s history of service. Thank you to all veterans of all branches for your bravery and your sacrifice!
