Snow Routes, School Closure Possible for Week of 1/30

Snowflake

With inclement weather in the forecast for next week, there is a possibility that we might need to again call for snow routes or, potentially, closures.

In the event of snow routes, we will communicate whether we will begin on time or late and whether bus routes will run as usual or on snow routes. * Updated Bus 204 Snow Route information below.

We will do our best to make a decision on snow routes by 6 am. Plans will be communicated via a School Messenger email and phone call that will go out no later than 6:30 am. Snow routes will also be posted as an alert on the HSD website.

A couple of clarifications:

  • If there is a snow route in the AM, there will be a snow route in the PM. Families will be notified if weather conditions necessitate a change to that plan.
  • My fingers are crossed for two scenarios: 1. That there is no inclement weather next week. 2. If we call a snow route, everything goes according to plan.

Enjoy what I hope is a 3-day weekend!

Sincerely,

Steve Marshall, Superintendent

* Route 204: A snow route for Route 204 means pick ups below the fire station will happen normally, pick ups for homes above the fire station will be consolidated at the fire station entrance. We have contracted with a service to clear snow from the fire station parking lot so the bus can park at the entrance where it will load students. This is also where it will drop students - again, only for students whose bus stop is above the fire station.
