Watch for Changes at HHES

Families and students will notice a few changes at Hockinson Heights Elementary School as the 2016-17 school year begins, including:

1. Name changes: The “West Office” will be renamed “the Yellow Office,” and the “East Office” will be the “Blue Office.” Instead of representing opposite directions, the names will celebrate the school’s colors—and the school doors will be painted to reflect their new names.

2. Morning greetings: Every day principal Josh Robertson, assistant principal Chuck Sheron and instructional coach Kristin McEnry will take turns shaking hands with students at the front door. “That personal greeting every day helps students feel appreciated, increases engagement and helps us connect with students,” Robertson says.

3. Sign-ins: All parents must sign in and get a visitor’s pass before visiting classrooms.
