The Hockinson School Board voted Monday, Sept. 24, to move Graduation Day for HHS's Class of 2019 to Thursday, June 13.
The change was requested by the Grad Night Committee, which had reserved a venue for the post-graduation party last summer with a nonrefundable deposit.
At the time, graduation was scheduled for June 7, but because of days missed at the beginning of the school year, the calendar was extended and graduation postponed to June 14.
The graduation party venue notified the group that it could change the reservation to June 13.
The School Board agreed to change the graduation date to June 13, because our seniors will already have fulfilled their graduation requirements by then.
The final day of school for the rest of Hockinson School District is June 17.
