Art From the Heart Club IMG_2688.JPG

Third, fourth and fifth graders from Hockinson Heights Elementary School have been busy.  Students from the current Art Club and even students from last year’s art club returned to help sell their creations, for donation, at the Hockinson Holiday Bazaar.  The basic principle of the club is that “even small hands can make a big difference”.

During Art Club artists create one item for themselves and, if possible, one artwork to donate.  All proceeds from the donations are sent to charitywater.org.  This is a clean water organization in which 100% of the donations go to help fund clean water projects around the world!

Since the beginning of the clubs and classroom creations Hockinson students have raised close to $9,000 dollars to help with clean water projects.  Hockinson students have helped build and repair wells in Ethiopia and Nepal.  Our donations have also helped with clean water education and directly support the education of children around the world.  Remember, if there isn’t a clean water source nearby someone has to walk for long distances to find drinkable water.  That job often falls to the children, especially the girls.  If there is clean water nearby more children are able to attend school and make a better life for themselves.

Small hands do make a big difference!  Hockinson students raised $412.00 dollars, through donations, at the Hockinson Holiday Bazaar!

All of this money will be sent to Charity Water to help fund more clean water projects around our world!

Thanks for making a difference Hockinson Students!
